¿Quiénes son los Garífuna? Los Garífuna son gente de decendencia Africana, Arawak e Indio-Caribe quienes fueron exiliados de la isla de San Vicente en 1797 y esforzados a reubicarse por la costa Atlántica de Belice, Honduras y Nicaragua. Como nunca fueron esclavos, la mayor parte de sus tradiciones y cultura han quedado intactas hasta el presente cuando cambios políticos, reforma en propiedades de terrenos, desastres "naturales", la economía e influencias extranjeras han comenzado a influenciar el estilo de sobre vivencia en la comunidad Garífuna.
